Vice-Principalship Opportunities for
the 2023-2024 School Year

The Greater Victoria School District anticipates openings for the 2023-2024 school year. We are seeking dynamic leaders with proven records of exemplary teaching and administration. Short-listed candidates will be interviewed for the District Eligible Administrator Pool (DEAP). Successful candidates selected for the DEAP will be assigned to specific schools depending upon available vacancies and the suitability of the candidates.
Positions in the DEAP currently available are for:
· Elementary
· Middle
· Secondary
Documented qualifications must include:
- Master’s degree or current enrolment
- BC College of Teachers’ or Ministry of Education certification
- Five years exemplary teaching experience
- Significant educational administration experiences
Candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching and leadership in the following areas:
- Truth and Reconciliation Implementation
- Commitment to the First Peoples Principles of Learning
- Implementing culturally responsive, inclusive and innovative practices that lead to students’ personal and academic success
- Implementing Ministry, District and School goals while establishing a culture of staff professional development directly related to student learning and achievement
- Promoting a comprehensive range of learning opportunities for students, including social responsibility, fine arts, athletics, global citizenship, and technology
- Developing and maintaining a variety of effective decision-making processes that build consensus, commitment, and collaboration
- Fostering team building, a sense of community, and a culture of continuous learning in a school
- Advocating for public schools and strong community connections
