School Bus Driver
(Subject to Internal Staffing Process)
The Greater Victoria School District provides public educational services to over 20,000 students in the Greater Victoria Area, encompassing six municipalities. To provide this service, the District has a current operating budget of $190 million and employs approximately 3,500 staff; which includes, teachers, principals and vice-principals, support staff, psychologists, speech and language pathologists and exempt managerial staff.
Reporting to the Manager, Fleet and Transportation, the School Bus Driver operates a school bus to transport students in accordance with District Bus Drivers’ Manual, NSC Safety Manual and School District Policy.
The Bus Driver position is a 10-month position working 20 hours per week. The Bus Driver works a 4-hour split shift (2 hours am and 2 hours pm) Monday to Friday.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate must have:
- Grade 10
- Valid Class 2 British Columbia Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement
- Level 1 First Aid and CPR certificate
- Minimum of 2 years bus driving experience
This position falls within the CUPE 947 Collective Agreement at a pay rate of $27.26 per hour, plus a comprehensive benefits plan.
