The Greater Victoria School District #61 is looking to hire a 1.0 FTE (CONT) Technology Education Teacher: Woodwork Grades 9-12/ Grade 9 Skills Exploration at Spectrum Secondary School.
The Greater Victoria School District provides public educational services to over 20,000 students in the Greater Victoria area, encompassing six municipalities. To provide this service, the District has a current operating budget of $260 million and employs approximately 3,500 staff which includes teachers, principals and vice-principals, support staff, psychologists, speech and language pathologists and exempt managerial staff.
Job Description and Requirements:
- BC Teacher Certification
- Bachelor of Education (Secondary) Degree with a concentration in Tech Ed
- Industrial education courses equal to 30units which are relevant to the prescribed curriculum including appropriate teaching methodology courses for the assignment or academic equivalency (ITA Red Seal)
- Teaching Assignment
- Woodwork 9/10 (Sem 1 Blks A & C and Sem 2 Blk B)
- Woodwork 11/12 (Sem 1 Blks B & D and Sem 1 Blk C)
- Skills Exploration 9/10 (Sem 2 Blk D)

This position falls within the GVTA Collective Agreement with a salary range of $61,901 to $109,812 per year.
