Secretarial Clerk
(10 Month CONTINUING)
The Greater Victoria School District #61 is looking to hire a Secretarial Clerk. This is a continuing position working 30 hours per week in the Indigenous Education Department.
The Greater Victoria School District provides public educational services to over 20,000 students in the Greater Victoria area, encompassing six municipalities. To provide this service, the District has a current operating budget of $210 million and employs approximately 3,500 staff which includes teachers, principals and vice-principals, support staff, psychologists, speech and language pathologists and exempt managerial staff.
The Secretarial Clerk provides a variety of clerical support services to the Indigenous Education Department from Early Years to Grade 12 along with providing support for IED Operational Meetings.
Education and Experience:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Completion of some office administration courses
- Over 6 months recent office experience
- Knowledge of office procedures
- Knowledge of database management, word processing, spreadsheet and email applications
- Must demonstrate competency by passing a related District test
This position falls within the CUPE 947 Collective Agreement at a pay rate of $26.38 per hour plus a comprehensive benefits plan after completion of probation. Preference provided to applicants whom have Indigenous ancestry. For a detailed job description, please click here.
