ELL Short Term Group, ELL Summer Program,
and International Student Orientation
Instructor/Activity Facilitators
Victoria International Education (VIE) is a division of the Greater Victoria School District and
offers ELL summer programs, ELL short term group programs, and student orientation programs to
international students who wish to experience cultural and language opportunities in Victoria.
Students attending these programs are from various locations throughout the world such as China,
Japan, Columbia, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil.
VIE is currently seeking experienced facilitators for these programs. Reporting to the Short Term
Group Program Coordinator, Facilitators are responsible for the delivery of ELL instruction as well
as supervising and guiding excursions in and around the City of Victoria.
The successful candidates will have previous ELL training and a minimum of 2 years’ experience
instructing in an ELL classroom or setting is preferred. A degree in Education or Child and Youth
Care would be beneficial. In addition, consideration will be given to individuals who have
experience working with and supporting youth ages 12 to 18.
Candidates will have strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills along with the
ability to lead discussion groups and presentations. Candidates must have cultural awareness with
experience living overseas an asset. Ideally, successful candidates will be available for all three
programs when required.
– ELL Summer Camp Facilitator – from 2 to 6 weeks, starting July 7, 2025
– International Student Orientation sessions – last week in August, 2025 and fourth week in
January, 2026.
– ELL Short Term Group Facilitator – from 2 to 4 weeks, starting March 2025 which includes Spring Break
