Electronics Technician

Continuing Full-Time Position
(Subject to Internal Staffing Process)

The Greater Victoria School District is looking for a qualified Electronics Technician to fill a full-time continuing assignment.

Reporting to the Manager of Networks, Communication and Security Systems, the Electronics Technician I repairs, installs and maintains electronic, communication, audio-visual, and computer hardware systems and equipment in schools.  The technician must be able to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, service manuals and other reference materials.  The technician is required to repair, maintain and diagnose problems in electrical wiring, circuitry, hardware and ancillary devices.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Two-year post-secondary Technician Certification in Electronics Technology or equivalent
  • One year related experience
  • Strong mechanical, diagnostic and analytical skills

This continuing position falls under the CUPE 947 Collective Agreement at a pay rate of $28.31 per hour based on a 35 hour work week, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
