2021-2022 Budget Prioritization Survey

The Greater Victoria School District is seeking input on budget priorities. It is specifically looking for feedback on Draft 3 of the 2021-2022 school year budget presented on April 13 & 21, 2021.

As you may be aware, the District has a $7 million shortfall in the upcoming school year. COVID-19, decreasing enrolment and other revenues, as well as increasing expenses, have contributed to this shortfall.

The District is moving away from a rollover budget and must address the structural deficit along with revenue and expense pressures. As the District moves forward, resource allocation must advance the District’s strategic plan.

This survey is an opportunity for you to help prioritize students’ needs for the Board of Education. The Board will review all input prior to making a decision on Monday, May 17th. For additional background information before completing the survey, please visit: www.sd61.bc.ca/our-district/financial/

It is advised that you are familiar with the balancing strategies and reinvestment options found in the April 13 or April 21, 2021 presentations in the above link, before completing the survey.
