REGULATION 3521.3

PLAYFIELDS

As the average monthly rainfall during December, January and February is extremely heavy, most School Board playing fields, if played upon, would be damaged beyond repair.  Subsequent to an on-site inspection, the School Plant Manager may therefore declare turfed school playgrounds out of bounds for a three-month period from the 1st of December through to the 28th February.  During this period goal posts may be removed to make sure that all activities on playing fields will cease.

A variation of soil conditions, drainage and frequency of play may subject certain fields to special considerations.  On such limited fields play may be authorized during the above time period of conditions indicate such play will not be injurious to field concerned.

Any limitation of play will apply equally to school and community use and shall be communicated to all schools, municipalities, and community groups at least one week in advance of such termination.  Similarly, the end of the limitation period will be announced one week in advance.
