REGULATION 3517.2

SECURITY – LOCKS

The Board recognizes that there is valuable equipment being used and stored in schools.

All exterior entrances and doors shall include the use of automatic door closers and general locking devices.  The equipping of doors of egress with exterior locking devices shall be consistent with the BC Fire Code.

All doors are equipped with locks.

Areas that are frequently used by the community shall be isolated from the remainder of the school if such isolation can be accomplished by the installation of locks and such action is not contrary to the BC Fire Code.

All additions, alterations and maintenance work involved in the installation or replacement of all types of locks shall be under the authority of the Facilities Department.
