The Greater Victoria Board of Education will be holding a Special Board Meeting on Monday, August 24th, 2020 to discuss Advocacy regarding COVID 19. For agenda items click here.
The Board will be debating the following motion: “That the Board of Education of School District No.61 (Greater Victoria) write to the Minister of Education advocating for the full funding and flexibility to create an online learning hub option for families which allows students to remain connected to their school community through the COVID 19 pandemic.”
Stakeholders and partner groups: this meeting is dedicated to hearing from yourselves as well as the public. In preparation, it’s important the Board hear from you in order to take into consideration the priorities, initiatives and concerns you are seeking to have addressed.
There are two ways for you to make submissions to the board:
- Presentations: you may schedule a presentation time of 3 minutes or less. This presentation will be conducted in person at the Board Office. (One speaker will be permitted in the Boardroom at a time)
- Written submissions: you may provide a written submission to the Board of Education.

Speaking requests and written submissions must be provided to Andree Porter by no later than 12 pm on Friday, August 21st.
