The District is loaning more than 1,000 digital devices to support students who are learning remotely amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The distribution of technology is to provide students and families with the support they need to participate in distance learning while in-class instruction is currently suspended.

“Equity remains a top priority for our District and we are working hard to put supports and systems in place that enable equitable access to remote learning opportunities,” noted Board Chair Jordan Watters. “We must ensure public education remains accessible and that every student can be successful. By providing digital devices for our students who need them, we are removing a key barrier to participating in their virtual classroom and connecting with their teachers and classmates. While we are physically apart, we are digitally connected more than ever and we cannot leave anyone behind.”

District staff has been identifying if families need access to technology since the return from Spring Break. For students who do not have access to computers, laptops, tablets, etc., that are suitable for learning, the District is lending Chromebooks and iPads to support learning from home.

So far, the District has distributed 1,050 Chromebooks and iPads to students. If a student requires a device, they are advised to contact their Principal.
