Board Meeting Highlights – September 23, 2019

District Capital Projects Update

The Facilities Department updated the Board on projects that were completed over the summer and identified ongoing projects, including the status of seismic projects (Campus View, Braefoot, and Vic High). Summer projects included classroom conversions, installing new floors and roofs, paving accessibility ramps, lighting upgrades, field and playground improvements.

Facilities reported that there were more than 670 maintenance work orders completed in the month of July and more than 700 in the month of August.

George Jay School Name Consultation

The Board passed a motion directing the Superintendent to develop a consultation process and then establish a committee to explore changing the name of George Jay Elementary.

Financial Reports

The District’s Audited Financial Statements and Statement of Financial Information was shared and approved by the Board.
