Reminder: Upcoming Catchment Boundary Review Meetings

VICTORIA, BC — The Greater Victoria School District is providing the latest catchment boundary review proposal to the Board of Education this week. After collecting input from the community and inviting final considerations, particularly on specific issues related to individual school changes, district staff will now share the latest boundary recommendations to the Board.

The district hosted eight school-targeted consultation meetings in the month of May to discuss the proposed changes with the schools directly impacted while continuing to gather input online. As there were some new considerations for specific schools presented in the second iteration of the proposal, the district ensured to connect with the school communities that could potentially be affected.

Phase Three Summary Report:

It has been almost 20 years since the Greater Victoria School District last reviewed school catchments. The District has undergone this review due to increasing student enrolment and limited space in some of its schools. For timelines, background information and the phase three proposal, please visit:

The new recommendations will be presented to Trustees at a Special Board Meeting on June 19th, 2019, with a meeting the following week on June 25th, 2019 for final deliberations.

Special Boundary Review Board Meetings:

  • Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 7 p.m.

All Board Meetings will be held at the Tolmie Board Office (556 Boleskine Road).
