The Ministry of Education has requested that School Districts amend their school calendars to include a curriculum implementation day for the 2018/2019 school year.

The Board is now undertaking consultation on the proposed calendar. The amendment requires the District to schedule an additional non-instructional day for 2018/2019.

The School Act and the School Calendar Regulation require the Board of Education to adopt a calendar for each school year by the end of March of the previous school year. Last year, the Board of Education approved the calendar for the next two upcoming schools years after public consultation. This amendment will affect those calendars.
