Catchment Boundary Review Update

Dear parents/guardians,

Responsive to feedback we’ve heard from the community, the District will be offering two additional school targeted consultation meetings as part of phase three of the boundary review.  The meetings are for interested parents, guardians and community in the Esquimalt and Cedar Hill areas.

The two additional meetings will take place at the following schools:

  • Macaulay May 14, 2019 from 7:00-8:00 p.m.
  • Doncaster May 14, 2019 from 7:00-8:00 p.m.

As the District extends the invitation for additional input, it will also be extending the window of opportunity to provide feedback online on the revised proposal available here: www.sd61.bc.ca/catchment-boundary-review

All feedback sent to the Boundary Review Team via BoundaryReviewTeam@sd61.bc.ca will be compiled and shared with the Board of Education to review. The deadline to submit feedback is Monday, June 3, 2019, at 4 p.m.

Due to the extension of our public consultation process and time required for the updated projections, the proposed recommendations will come back to the Board of Education in the middle of June. It continues to be a priority for the Board of Education to make a final decision on the boundary review prior to the end of June so that parents and guardians have sufficient time to plan accordingly.

Sincerely,

Shelley Green

Superintendent of Schools
