At about 10:15am this morning Victoria High School reached out to Victoria Police after receiving an anonymous threat which initiated a ‘hold and secure’. Victoria Police were on site at Vic High as classes continued throughout the day. The hold and secure was lifted at about 12:30pm today. Police have investigated, secured the area, and determined there is no viable threat.

We thank Victoria Police for their quick response and for securing the safety of the school. Thank you to the school community for your patience and understanding.

A ‘hold and secure’ is used when it is desirable to secure the school due to an ongoing situation outside the school. In a ‘hold and secure’ situation, the school continues to function normally, with the exterior doors being locked until such time as the situation near the school is resolved.
