Middle School Career Programming

School District 61 recognizes the importance of career exploration and transitions to educational and training pathways.

The school district is focused on extending career exploration opportunities to the middle level years. Students in Grade 6 – 8 have the opportunity to participate in specific career exploration programs, increasing their awareness about career opportunities and educational training pathways and programs. Each grade level explores a specific focus area:

Grade 6Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy
Grade 7Trades and Technology
Grade 8Skills, Interests and Passions – Making Connections to Career Exploration

Each of these focus areas is designed to involve staff, students and industry partners, creating relationships and further developing meaningful opportunities to connect students to the community and the world of work.
