Rental Event Attendant – Spareboard

The Greater Victoria School District provides public educational services to over 20,000 students in the Greater Victoria Area, encompassing six municipalities.  To provide this service, the District has a current operating budget of $190 million and employs approximately 3,000 staff; which includes, teachers, principals and vice-principals, support staff, psychologists, speech and language pathologists and exempt managerial staff.

The Greater Victoria School District has theatre venues at Oak Bay High, Victoria High, Esquimalt High, Spectrum Community School and Reynolds Secondary plus other venues that are primarily dedicated to education and may also be used by the community and outside organizations. The scheduling of these non-school events is carried out by the Rental Services within the Facilities Department along with support from school-based Theatre Managers.

Reporting to the Manager of Building Operations and to assist the Theatre Manager, the Rental Event Attendant acts is the School District representative for external groups renting theatres on Fridays after 5 pm, and any events on Saturdays, Sundays and Statutory Holidays.

This is currently an on-call position.  This position falls under the CUPE collective agreement at a pay rate of $23.30 per hour plus 11% in lieu of benefits. For a detailed job description, please click here.
