School Bus Driver

​The Greater Victoria School District provides public educational services to over 20,000 students in the Greater Victoria Area, encompassing six municipalities.  To provide this service, the District has a current operating budget of $190 million and employs approximately 3,500 staff; which includes, teachers, principals and vice-principals, support staff, psychologists, speech and language pathologists and exempt managerial staff.

Reporting to the Manager, Fleet and Transportation, the School Bus Driver operates a school bus to transport students in accordance with District Bus Drivers’ Manual, NSC Safety Manual and School District Policy.

The Bus Driver position is a minimum 4 hour split shift (2 hours am and 2 hours pm). Hours may increase dependent on busing requests for field trips.

The successful candidate must have Grade 10, valid Class 2 British Columbia Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement, Level 1 First Aid and CPR certificate and a minimum of 2 years bus driving experience. 

This position falls within the CUPE 947 Collective Agreement at a pay rate of $27.26 per hour, plus benefits.
