Nicole Duncan for School Trustee

Nicole Duncan is a parent of a child attending school in SD61. Nicole is running for trustee because she believes in the intrinsic value of public education and the right of all our children to receive equitable access to the very best education. Advocating for a strong and vibrant public education system is a top priority for Nicole, who has worked for many years as a parent advocate in SD61 demonstrating her commitment to public education as a volunteer and through her service on the Executive of a Parent Advisory Council. As a trustee, Nicole will advocate for good governance, transparent decision making and a board that is accountable. Nicole will work to ensure that initiatives meant to encourage student achievement also support student wellbeing and privacy rights. Nicole will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure their points of view are given the consideration they deserve. To this end, Nicole can offer her experience working with the public, interpreting legislation, developing policy, managing budgets and standing up for change.
