Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Ann is proud to call Victoria her home. Through her involvement in her own children’s education, Ann developed an understanding and passion to advocate for the success of all children in the public education system. During her first term as Trustee, Ann created the Parent Education Fund, served on the Operations, Middle School, Policy Review and Audit Committees and chaired the Education Policy Committee. Ann has served 4 years as President of the provincial Parent Advisory Council (BCCPAC), 8 years with the BC School Centred Mental Health Coalition and was appointed to the BC Teachers Council for a 3-year term where she working tirelessly and collaboratively with education partners building relationships, improving communication and supporting student success. Ann is committed to ensuring positive educational experiences for all children and supporting the role parents and community play in the learning outcomes for students.
