The
Band and parents of band members are always involved in fundraising
efforts.
The
Vic High R&B Band requires financial support to cover
operational costs, such as instrument repairs, travel, sound
equipment and more. Plans are also underway for an in-house
recording and sound studio (see Studio
65) to involve students who have interests in the music
industry other than performing.
Financial donations to the SD61 Music Program are always welcome,
and are tax deductible.
If
you would like to know more about how you can support and
encourage this exciting program for talented youth in our

The
following information is directed to Band Parents participating
in the Thrify Smile Cards fundraising effort. Contact Louise
LaLonde for more information.
The
Vic High R&B Band received approval from Thifty Foods
for up to $2,500 through their Smile Card program. For every
dollar loaded to a Thrifty’s Smile Card, the R&B
Band receives 5%, up to a maximum of $2,500 from Sept 27/07
through May 31/08.
The intent of the Thrifty’s program is to raise the
funds for the group. This was discussed at the Oct 16th
parent/student meeting and it was agreed the funds would
accrue to the group, rather than individual students.
If you have a Smile Card from the R&B Band from last
year, please continue to use it. If you need a new Smile
Card(s), please let Louise know, and she will get you a
new Smile Card(s).
For people new to the Smile Card program, here are some
of the guidelines:
Organizations
participating in the Smile Card Fundraising Program may
not apply for any other funding or sponsorship from Thrifty
Foods.
Cards
may be loaded at the Customer Service Desk or through
any cashier using debit card, credit card or cash. If
loading via a cashier, the card load must be done prior
to having the grocery order rung in – the load and
checking the grocery order are two separate transactions.
Thrifty
Foods will issue monthly cheques representing 5% of total
dollars loaded to the R & B Band.
Lost
or stolen cards should be reported by calling Thrifty
Foods customer service (544-1234) or by going to any Thrifty
Foods Customer Service. Contact Louis if you lose your
card -- she keeps track of card numbers by family and
may be able to help.
If
your card becomes demagnetized, please have it replaced
at the Thrifty’s Customer Service Desk and let me
know what your new Card Number is.
You
may also check your card balance by visiting www.thriftyfoods.com
(Our Services, Smile Cards, Check my Smile Card). Balances
are also displayed on grocery receipts.
