Flexible Studies: Leadership in Learning
Flexible Studies: Leadership in Learning is comprised of four key program components.
These four are Academic Excellence, Character Development through Leadership, Enrichment
and Challenge through Experiential Learning, and Support for Individualized, Flexible
Programs.
The program’s goal is to support the growth of the whole person through a rigorous
and creative academic program and a comprehensive program of character development
and service opportunities. Each student’s growth will be measured by the development
of skills and attributes that we believe support learning beyond the curriculum.
The Flex program is unique in its team approach to teaching. The teachers work together
to support students beyond the specific subject areas being taught.
The Flex program supports elite athletes and performers who require a flexible program
due to training, competition, rehearsal and performance; students are provided individualized
academic programs to accommodate their commitments away from school.
This program is offered at Reynolds Secondary for students in Grades 9 – 12 and
students are selected by application.
