Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

On Wednesday, February 23rd we all woke to a blanket of snow covering everything is sight.  Arriving early gave us the opportunity to see our playground in pristine condition - not one footprint to be seen.  But once the children arrived we could not keep them out of it.  They had a wonderful time playing in the snow.

Great B.C. Shake Up

On Wednesday, January 26, 2011 the students took part in the largest earthquake drill in British Columbia's history.  Over 400,000 people took part in the drill that began at 10:00 a.m.   The students followed the direction of their teachers and everyone came through with flying colours.  We had a television crew at the school and they filmed one of our classes in action.

Terry Fox Run for Cancer

This year students, again, took part in a whole school run. Mme Malo is seen here with our two 'draw' winners who each received Terry Fox tee shirts.

All the students enjoyed running the circuit and receiving a stamp on the arm to indicate completion.

Soccer Tournament

The Grade 4 and 5 boys' and girls' soccer teams took part in a mixed tournament hosted by Sir James Douglas Elementary School.  Teams from other schools were also there but the rain and wind did not deter any of these athletes and a good time was had by all.

Remembrance Day Assembly

Our Remembrance Day assembly is steeped in tradition and our community looks forward to being part of it.  We begin with a flag ceremony where students display flags from many different world countries as they march in a procession through the auditorium.  We have many invited veterans that attend as they can and they enjoy seeing the children actively participate in this salute.
