Lake Hill Spotlight
2011-12 School Year
Lake Hill Student Leadership
Each September all Grade 5 students start the year by attending a Leadership Retreat/Sleepover in our school gym. Students work on various team building activities and receive training from our school staff, police liaison officer and school counsellor. Leadership Students have many roles at Lake Hill School including; monitoring, mentoring, fundraising, coordinating school events and hosting our assemblies and ceremonies. What a great Leadership Team we have this year! Check out some of the many ways they help create a positive school environment and sense of community for us all..... |

Cops for Cancer
Way to go Spencer!!!
This is Spencer's fourth year supporting Cops for Cancer by having his head shaved. This year we supplied our own in-house barber Constable Drew. Spencer later shaved Constable Drew's head at the Reynolds Secondary Cops for Cancer event.

Santa's Workshop
Our wonderful office staff organize this annual event for our school. Lake Hill Famlies generously donate to a coin drive and bring items to "Stuff-A-Sock" for homeless people of Victoria (this year we stuffed 100 socks!) We look forward to the event with great anticipation each year. Thanks to Lake Hill staff and parents, Reynolds Secondary students, and community members who work with Mrs. Blackstock and Mrs. McKeachie. Our thanks also to Dave and Lauren Roger and their crew of parent helpers for a fabulous pre-holiday Pancake Brunch! |

Our Primary Choir sang beautifully at the Victoria City Hall.
In December, Lake Hill Senior Choir also had public performances
at Saanich Municipal Hall and the BC Legislature. This spring our
Senior Choir and Strings students participated in the Greater
Victoria Music Festival. We are proud of the positive comments
that were made by adjudicators at these events.
Thank you to our students and staff, parent drivers and
to Choir Directors Mrs. McAuliffe (Primary and Senior) and
Ms. Thacker (Primary) and to our Strings Director Mrs. McKnight.
