2004-2005 was our first year as a middle school. Prior to that Glanford was a K-7 Elementary School with French Immersion.

The primary goal for our first year was to create a culture for our middle school that nurtured learning in a positive, safe and fun environment. By any measure we met this goal as our students were introduced to new ideas, challenges and opportunities that reflected their growing independence in their young adolescent years. A fabulous music program, Retro-Assemblies, Team Assemblies, Studio 85 Televison Station, a full slate of sports teams, Mini-Exploratories, PJ's & Pancakes, Literacy and Science Fairs were just a few of the ways that this became a special place in 2004-2005.

We were a small school in 2004-2005, just 280 students, but growth was certain for our second year and possibly beyond. We looked forward to building on the success of our first year as we continued to make GMS the best middle school in Victoria.

Good-bye Gator

The Gator was a faithful mascot to the thousands of students who went through Glanford Elementary School. But when we became a middle school it was time for a change. Click on the gator to see our good-bye to the Gator.

Team Logos
The Students from each team at GMS selected and designed their own logos. These were the results in 2004-2005.
