LVISSAA & LIMSSA are presenting a unique opportunity for you to become part of the solution.

The Lower Vancouver Island School Sports Booster Club is a fundraising and sponsor recognition scheme that is aimed to address an explicit financial shortfall in local extra-curricular school sports. Volunteer Coaches, Volunteer Administrators, and parents are increasingly bearing the financial burden of participation in school sports. We are offering several options for advertising and exposure that you may choose based on the nature of your business and its marketing needs.

Our Situation

Provincial funding for school sports has been slashed over the past few years, and costs are increasing. Currently, the cost of officials, first aid and awards are split evenly between schools that participate in each league, and the majority of coaches donate their services without any remuneration. The retention rate of coaches is starting to decline, and participation in local league play is often limited by financial pressure at schools.

Each school has their own system in place to meet the financial demand of extracurricular sports (ie PACs); however families are increasingly bearing the financial burden. Coaches are struggling to keep up with fundraising efforts for their teams, and the effects are felt through the whole school sport system.

Becoming a Booster

New partners in our Booster Club have flexibility in tiered options based on the contribution level that is commited, and the duration of the partnership agreement (3 years maximum)

You may choose to ‘boost’ one particular sport or event, or keep it general.
For example:

  1. Basketball Gold Partner: Your financial contributions would offset the costs of officiating the basketball leagues, your logo would be seen on the basketball webpages and advertisement on the booster club webpage. You could attend a basketball tournament and bring a display, also you could attend the basketball commission meeting to ‘welcome and thank’ the volunteer coaches and administrators. A certificate would be made for you to display at your business.
  2. Coaching Silver Partner: Your financial contribution would be directed to coach appreciation costs such as awards and gifts, you would be invited to attend the annual coaches’ banquet to present an award, and your logo would be on the Booster Club webpage. A certificate would be made for you to display at your business.
  3. General Bronze Partner: You would be provided with a certificate acknowledging your contribution, have your name on the Booster Club Webpage, and recognized at the AGM and Banquet.

Funding will be directed to offset:
